Scarlett Montgomery (2003 - 2018)

On Dec.1st, we made the agonizing decision to let our sweet baby go, free of pain, young and whole again. I volunteer with several rescues and this is where we met Scarlett after she had been released from the pound. She was about 3 years old and most definitely a "diva"! She lived with our other rescues, Finnegan a bichon and Buddy a golden retriever, but never let them forget who was boss. She was my shadow, my "Velcro dog" and she went everywhere I did. Fate gave her a fast growing hemangiosarcoma and she was failing quickly. We had lost another golden, our beloved Casey from the same damn cancer and di not want her to suffer as he did. She looked in my eyes and told me "I'm tired, mom and I hurt, it's time for me to go. I held her close while she passed, all the while I felt my heart breaking. Scarlett, we could not have asked for a more loyal affectionate girl and you will forever be in our hearts and our memories. Run free, sweet baby, you will be so missed. Till we meet again.
